I'm trying to think of some names for Hasbro MLPs who currently don't really fit my version of Ponyland. IDEAS NEEDED!
4-Speed - I like the construction theme--SOMEONE must be building all those "playsets"--but there are no trucks in my Ponyland, so his symbol doesn't make sense. And without his symbol, his name doesn't make sense. Thoughts?
Baby Ribbs - What could his name possibly mean?? His symbol is a dragon, his name is Ribbs . . . I've tried googling for "knight ribbs" or "dragon ribbs" but it comes up with NOTHING. Is it a misspelling of "ribs"? But that doesn't make sense either. I think he just needs a new name.
Babies Katie, Billie, and Susie (the international "Best Friends" babies) - Their names are going to be "the aptly named 'Baby Not-Appearing-in-This-Fic'" unless I figure out better, non-human names for them. Their symbols are a puppy (Susie), a kitten (Katie), and a bunny (Billie.)
BRAAAAAAINSTOOOOORM! *lightning flashes and thunder cracks*

*manic grin* RESEARCH TIME!!!!! (Quick disclaimer: No offense to you folks who're suggesting generic RainbowSparkleFlowerHeart names, but, ah...I like to make pony names a bit more unique. Or complicated. *points at her OCs* "Rankle" and "Blitzkrieg" sound so much more ominous than the generic villain BlackStarDarkBlood names, at least.) SO. Here goes. 4-Speed: So, construction theme, good; symbol, bad. I'm assuming this means you'll be changing his symbol. In keeping with the construction theme (and bad puns), you could change it to a caterpillar. You know, after that bulldozer company. XD OR, you could just make his symbol be some other tool and have the name correspond to it. Monkeywrench has a nice ring to it. Or Hard Hat (you like Transformers, don't you? XD). Or Sawhorse. Baby Ribbs: I actually like his name, for all its nonsensicalness. However, this is your Ponyland fanon, not mine. ;D Sooo...hmmm...dragons... OOH!! Baby Wyrm! Baby Fafnir! (Though Fafnir was evil...and greedy...could help with characterization, though, maybe.) Baby Draco! (Too Harry Potter-ish?) Baby Níðhöggr/Nidhogg! And, from the Nidhogg wiki article: "These are names for serpents: dragon, Fafnir, Iormungand, adder, Nidhogg, snake, viper, Goin, Moin, Grafvitnir, Grabak, Ofnir, Svafnir, masked one." (Faulkes translation, p.137) Babies Katie, Billie, and Susie: Now that you've brought this up, I've decided how I'll deal with it in my fanon. Obviously, after Megan's coming, it became fashionable to give foals human names. XD (Wonder how long THAT trend'll last...poor kids...) As for actual names, let's see... Katie: Baby Tabby (seems to be the pattern of her symbol-cat--isn't there an adult unicorn named Tabby?). Baby Bast--Egyptian cat goddess. Baby Neko--Japanese good luck cat symbol thing. Baby Freyja--Norse goddess of love/beauty/fertility with chariot drawn by cats. Okay, that last one's a bit too human-ish. Uhhhh... Baby Nine Lives? Ooh, cat breeds! Baby Shorthair, Baby Longhair, Baby Bombay, Baby Chartreux, Baby Korat, Baby Manx, Baby Chantilly... Billie: Baby Flopsy, Baby Mopsy, Baby Cottontail, Baby Lagomorpha (the order rabbits are in), Baby Leporidae (the family rabbits are in), Baby Coney (another word for rabbit), Baby Fluffle (a group of rabbits, used in Northern Canada), Baby Briar (Br'er Rabbit). Susie: I'm getting tired, so I'm just gonna stick to dog breed names. Baby Basset, Baby Lab, Baby Malamute, Baby Whippet, Baby Corgi, Baby Springer, Baby Pinscher, OKAY I LIED ABOUT STICKING TO DOG BREEDS, Baby Cerberus (only, Cerberus had three heads...), Baby Argos (Odysseus's dog), Baby Cujo (eh...maybe not...), Baby Baskerville (, Hound of the; a Sherlock Holmes tale), Baby Sirius (Orion's dog and a binary star). WHEW! Hope that helps! ;D

YAY Brainstorm! 4-Speed: Bob the Builder. ;D J/K!!! Uh... let's see... ARCHITECT? Eh, no, not really, his symbol would have to be a pencil, then. * remembers Handy Smurf* Uhh, let's see... there's also MASON. Yano... someone who works with iron and such... and uh.. if you want to be ironic, Wrecker. Personally I like Mason, but that may sound too human for you. Baby Ribbs: Leviathon. ;D You could shorten his name to Levi. (That's what I got when I looked up Dragon on thesaurus.com!) Or you could name him Gorbash after the Flight of the Dragons movie! ^_^ Baby Katie, Billie, and Susie: Susie could be "spot" since her symbol is a puppy (and I think it's blue with yellow spots, isn't it?), Katie could simply be "Kitty" not terribly inventive, I know, or perhaps something like "Swiftpaw" or something equally-'Warriors' like since her symbol is a cat, and baby Billie... well, my suggestion is 'Bunny', or maybe 'Cottontail'. For the smartest sibling of Peter Rabbit of the Beatrix Potter series. ^_^ - §parky
