Just a few little, um, "reimagined" backcard stories. ;D If you aren't familiar with the G1 backcard stories, you can check them out here! They were one of my favorite things about G1 and a brilliant way to advertise. (I hated pink, but HAD to have Cotton Candy because she was in Moondancer's backcard story.) These are rated PG, I'd say. Some gender swapping involved to make them fit into "my" Ponyland. ~*~ BubblesThe Hasbro version:Lemon Drop saw a strange muddy pony galloping toward her across the field. "My goodness, I think you need a bath!" She exclaimed as she poured her favorite bubble bath into the waterfall beside the stable. Soon bubbles were everywhere, twinkling in the sun and floating on the gentle breeze. "Perhaps I put in too much bubble bath," she thought. "Oh well, she really is very muddy." After much scrubbing a beautiful, yellow pony emerged from the bubbly water. "I'll call you Bubbles," said Lemon Drop. Bubbles just smiled. She had found a new friend. My version:Lemon Drop saw a strange muddy pony galloping toward her across the field. "My goodness, I think you need a bath!" she exclaimed as she poured her favorite bubble bath into the waterfall beside the stable. "Wha--GET AWAY FROM ME!" responded the pony as Lemon Drop dragged him into the waterfall. Soon bubbles were everywhere, twinkling in the sun and floating on the gentle breeze. "Perhaps I put in too much bubble bath," Lemon Drop thought. "Oh well, she really is very muddy." "SHE??" the other pony remarked, seeming rather upset. "I'm a STALLION, I'll have you know!" Lemon Drop ignored this comment. After much scrubbing a beautiful, yellow pony emerged from the bubbly water. "I'll call you Bubbles," said Lemon Drop. "Oh, so now you think you can just go around NAMING other ponies?" Bubbles snapped. "Yep," Lemon Drop replied as she began dragging Blossom into the waterfall.

Moonstone
Hasbro version:
Dusk was setting in, but Moonstone was determined to keep searching for her special friend the rainbow. It was almost too dark to see the sky. "Maybe she's hiding under the magical waterfall," Moonstone thought to herself.
Moonstone rubbed her unicorn in the moss of an old stump and in a twinkling, arrived at the base of the Waterfall. Gazing into the pond, she saw a glint of light. Looking closer, Moonstone saw beautiful colors shimmering on the water. "I've found one!" she cried excitedly, tossing her head into the air. Many different colors came shooting out of her rainbow mane and tail like fireworks. Moonstone galloped along the water's edge watching the beautiful colors dance in the moonlit pond. She was so excited she woke up Sunshine to show her. Sunshine only smiled because she knew that this time the rainbow was only a reflection on Moonstone's beautiful rainbow-colored hair.
LM note: Who is Sunshine? No idea, I assume they meant Sunlight or Starshine.
My version:

Gazing into the pond, he saw a glint of light. Looking closer, Moonstone saw beautiful colors shimmering on the water. "I've found one!" he cried excitedly, tossing his head into the air. Many different colors came shooting out of his rainbow mane and tail like fireworks, starting several small brush fires. Moonstone galloped along the water's edge watching the beautiful colors dance in the moonlit pond. He was so excited he woke up Parasol to show her. "That's the reflection of your mane, stupid," Parasol snapped. "Now are you going to let me get some sleep or what?" Moonstone and Parasol never really got along after that, they say . . .

Confetti
Hasbro version:
Confetti liked to design beautiful toys from colored paper and streamers. One day a gentle breeze blew one of her paper dolls away. Confetti chased after it as the doll came to life. "Let's ride through the clouds!" the doll exclaimed. Confetti clapped her hooves together and off they went for a magical ride through ponyland.
My version:
Confetti liked to design beautiful toys from colored paper and streamers. One day a gentle breeze blew one of her paper dolls away. Confetti chased after it as the doll came to life. "AHAHAHAHA! I'm ALIVE!" the doll exclaimed "Now I shall TAKE OVER PONYLAND!!!" It was probably fortunate that Fireball was passing just then, even if he did ignite a few trees. "That's the fifth paper doll I've had come to life this week," sighed Confetti. "Maybe I should take up needlepoint." "And risk a megalomaniac macrame?" questioned Fireball. "Nah, stick to paper. At least it burns easily."
Seriously though, living dolls are probably a bad idea. Even if they are just made of paper.

Sparkler
Hasbro version:
Sparkler stood out in the sun, admiring her collection. "It's so beautifully shiny," she remarked as she rearranged her glitter cards, gold coins and aluminum foil pieces.
Sparkler loves shiny, sparkling objects. When the moon is full, she follows the brightest star in search of glittering trinkets. On the night of the last full moon, Sparkler found a glowing diamond. "This will be perfect for Majesty's crown," she thought. But Majesty urged Sparkler to keep the jewel because someday she might have a crown of her own.
My version:
Sparkler stood out in the sun, admiring her collection. "It's so beautifully shiny . . . shiny . . . shiiiiiny," she remarked as she rearranged her glitter cards, gold coins and aluminum foil pieces.
Sparkler loves shiny, sparkling objects, leading many ponies to theorize that she was a magpie in a former life. When the moon is full, she follows the brightest star in search of glittering trinkets (except once when she turned into a werewolf. But that was probably just a fluke.)
On the night of the last full moon, Sparkler found a glowing diamond. "This will be perfect for Majesty's crown," she thought. But Majesty urged Sparkler to keep the jewel because someday she might have a crown of her own! "That fits in nicely with my plans to usurp your throne," laughed Sparkler. "That's nice," said Majesty, and she wandered away.

OH MY GOSH I REMEMBER THESE FROM MOONDANCER'S DREAM!!!!!! I USED TO LOVE THESE SILLY THINGS!!! They were actually my introductions to what backcards were. Being new to the whole MLP thing (and the internet in general, thus making it harder for me to figure out where to get info), I had no freaking clue what they were.
"Wait, backcards? What're those? ...Wait, I'm getting the idea that they were on the back of the packaging...?" *reads your stuff* "THEY PUT THIS ON THE BACK OF CHILDREN'S TOY PACKAGING?!?" *realizes it's fanfic* "OH. Oh, okay. Yeah. That makes sense." *reads actual backcard stories* "...Well, that's much less inspired than the fanfic ones." *reads G3 backcards* ".............That's MUCH less inspired than the 80s ones."
Thank you for confusing the heck out of me, LM. ;D
And also thank you for reposting these things. I've missed them.
(And for the record, Moondancer's backcard story was the BEST. And I think that Sugarberry's backstory details the creation of rainbowberries.)

Moondancer was the first pony I got, when I was 4 or so, and I forced my siblings and parents to read the backcard to me over and over again. (Yes, I kept all my backcards. Such splendid things. Still have 'em. ) Here are a couple new ones. Is it funnier to see them side by side with Hasbro's version or not? Inquiring minds want to know. Bow-TieBow-Tie was moping around. "I don't think anyone has remembered my birthday," she whinnied. Suddenly, Firefly swooped down from the sky with hundreds of colorful ribbons trailing behind her, Medley floated down on a cloud, and the song Happy Birthday was heard all around. Ribbons were everywhere, hanging from the clouds and floating on the wind (ready to decimate the native but not very bright wildlife.) Everyone brought presents. Bow-Tie eagerly opened them and found ribbons of velvet, satin and silk -in every color of the rainbow! That is, she started out eager. After about the seventh present she began to lose enthusiasm. "This is IT? Just RIBBONS? You guys are so cheap." Just then the copyright holders of "Happy Birthday to You" appeared and sued everyone at the party!

Blossom
Blossom was happily digging in the garden. Many of her favorite plants were in bloom and she was proud of her garden. "Hi Blossom," said Peachy, arriving with her cat Twinkles. "I've brought you a present. The noonday sun is terribly bright so I thought you'd like this sun hat." Blossom was overwhelmed with Peachy's nice gift and immediately burst into tears. "You are SO KIND!" Blossom wept as Peachy stared, mouth hanging open. "No one has EVER given me a gift so precious as this before! Thank you, my dear friend," she said, clutching the sun hat (which in truth had been hanging in the Pretty Parlor with a clearance price tag on it for the past three months) to her chest.
"Well . . . I'm glad you like it . . ." Peachy started edging away, but Blossom said, "Wait!" She reached down into the garden and brought up a beautiful (and, strangely, premade) bouquet of flowers. "I want you to have a present too! Thank you!"
"Y-your welcome," said Peachy, and left quickly, partly because Blossom was creeping her out and partly because she feared the repercussions when Blossom noticed Twinkles the cat had . . . taken advantage . . . of the hole Blossom had been digging.
Wow, friendless, lunatic Blossom! I'm sorry, Blossom. I don't REALLY see you that way.

Cotton Candy
Cotton Candy galloped out of the stable with Blossom hot on her heels. "At least she's stopped eating my beautiful flowers," Blossom whinnied as she stopped chasing her. Cotton Candy slowed to a trot. She was forever getting into mischief, mostly because she tried to find her sweet treats in Blossom's garden and had no respect for personal property. "I'll visit my mountain friends, I think the wild flowers will be out in the valley. Yum!" she said happily, licking her lips. Cotton Candy had fun all day and was personally responsible for the extinction of three rare species of wild flowers.

Oh these are so nice backgroud stori overwrites I really like them. Could you please make funny background stories for some G3 ponies too? Caelum, there are some good background stories in my MLP story collection book, but it is very difficult to translate them to einglish.

Caelum, there are some good background stories in my MLP story collection book, but it is very difficult to translate them to einglish. Pity. I wish the language barrier wasn't such a bear. >.< LM, that Bowtie one's hilarious. Poor Bowtie. XD And the other two too, of course. Cotton Candy cracks me up. (I've been protective of wildflowers from a young age. Had to stop a fellow 11-year-old from picking some once. Was NOT easy to convince her that YES, we DO have endangered species in our area, tigers aren't the only endangered species thank-you-very-much.) *snort* Blossom... ;D Tell those inquiring minds that I prefer seeing both versions of the story--Hasbro's and yours. It's nice to be able to compare the two without having to click on the link in your first post.

Aw man I was just wondering what happened to these stories the other day! XD Thanks for posting them, LM! ;D
I like seeing them side-by-side with the original hasbro stories. It makes me think, "Ah, so now we know the truth!" XD
