I know, a lot of you peeps are gonna say, "Yeah, so?" well, I live in Alabama. Snow is virtually nil here!
Sorry for the ads, peeps! Trust me when I say that that was not my choice! DX

XD I live up north in a state that just can't make up its mind about the weather. It was snowing this morning. Now it isn't. And it's actually not that cold out. Silly ol' PA... Enjoy your snow in Alabama! (If you make a muddy snowman and call it a hermaphrodite, I will love you. If you can name that reference, I will love you even more. ;D)

I'm still stuck under a good six feet of the stuff. I've seen snow since the storms in December dropped a good nine feet on us. (I'm in Darington, Washington.) Three feet melted over the course of two months. I actually miss seeing green grass. whats really bad about it is that the bottom four feet is frozen solid. it is strong enough to hold up an empty big rig. my neighbor had to find out for sure about that. I'm just thankful that the stores are within walking distance from my apartment and that helps with the cabin fever. Believe me, after a week of the white stuff, you'll no longer think of it as pretty.

Yeah, but Sunny, the thing about snow in Alabama (or anywhere down south) is that it'll melt too quickly for people to become jaded about it. XP
My Mom's friend from Australia was visiting up here about a year ago, and she freaked out when it started snowing. And she ran outside and saw all the different snowflake designs and was like, "Et comes in SHAYPES!" in her Australian accent. And then my mother and her friends put her to work shoveling the driveway, and the magic quickly wore off. XD
No one's named my hermaphrodite reference...which makes me sad. Doesn't anyone READ BOOKS anymore?!? XD

The winter of 93 and days and days and days without power jaded me pretty quickly--I was 11! (I couldn't even enjoy it, I was stuck inside sick with pneumonia. -_-) And we read books, I just don't think we read the right ones. ^_^;; - §parky

It is snowing here again. Try nearly three months of snow and more snow before you get all excited about it. better yet, try shoveling ice. I love the snow and all, but enough is enough, after nearly three months of it. XD!

And we read books, I just don't think we read the right ones. ^_^;; Oh, alright. It's from To Kill A Mockingbird. Which isset in Alabama. And the kids try to make a snowman when it snowed four inches or so. And it winds up becoming a really muddy snowman. And then they give it an apron and a pipe, prompting their neighbor to call it a hermaphrodite. ;D *luffs her literature*

OMG!!!
You know, I totally need to read that book. I went to private school so it wasn't really on our required reading lists... ^_^;;; I did really mean to get around to reading it before now, though! Our fourth grade teacher tried to read it to us but the Principal wouldn't let her continue. ~_~ Dunno what that was about.

OMG!!! Another private school student! *glomps*
Sucks that it wasn't on your reading list. It's, like, one of the awesomest books in the world! I read it when I was twelve or so, and then again during ninth grade, and my wonderful English teacher took the time to read it out loud to the class. She'd stop and point out all the random little bits of symbolism and stuff you need to read between the lines to see. It was pretty sweet.
As for why your principal wouldn't let your teacher read it...the only reason I can think of would be because it mentions the N-word. And rape. *shrug* Knowing some school officials, I guess I'm not surprised...I've known of schools that outlaw The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn because it uses the N-word in copious amounts.
But anyway, yeah, you seriously need to read that book. Seriously. ^_^
